MCHONE PERFORMANCE TRAINING

Strategic Marketing & Design Support for a Growing Performance Brand

Scope of Work

Marketing Strategy · Website Refresh & Landing Pages · Social Media Content · Video Content Creation · Email Marketing · Print Design · Promotional Campaigns · Event Promotion · Brand Communications

Project Overview

McHone Performance Training (MPT) is a performance-focused training facility built around helping athletes and active adults move better, get stronger, and perform at a higher level.

Our partnership began during a key growth phase for the business. Founder Steven McHone was preparing to move into a larger facility and needed a trusted creative and marketing partner who could help bring ideas to life while allowing him to stay focused on coaching, programming, and leading his team.

What began with a discovery meeting and website vision quickly evolved into a long-term partnership supporting the brand’s marketing, communications, digital presence, and promotional initiatives as the business continued to grow.

The Challenge

As MPT expanded into a larger facility, the business needed clear communication, stronger brand consistency, and marketing support that matched its momentum.

The immediate challenge was managing the transition into a new location while keeping current members informed, attracting new clients, and creating marketing materials that reflected the elevated direction of the business.

As the partnership continued, the scope naturally expanded to include ongoing digital marketing support, content creation, campaign development, and audience engagement.

Then came an unexpected challenge.

Shortly after relocating, Hurricane Helene caused significant damage to the facility, forcing the business into recovery mode. Communication, visibility, and community connection became even more important as the gym worked toward reopening.

Scope of Collaboration

As part of this collaboration, I supported a range of creative and marketing initiatives designed to help MPT grow its presence, communicate effectively with its audience, and maintain a consistent brand experience across platforms.

This included:

Website strategy, homepage refresh, and landing page development
Email marketing and newsletter design
Social media content planning and execution
Short-form video editing and promotional campaign creative
Event and promotional print design
Photography and on-site content capture
Creative asset development for digital campaigns
Marketing communications guidance
Community event promotion
Brand consistency across customer touchpoints

Website Growth & Digital Presence

Our work began with website planning and creative strategy designed to better align MPT’s online presence with the business’s evolution.

This included:

  • Homepage refresh
  • Improved messaging and calls to action
  • Interactive design elements
  • Additional landing pages for targeted campaigns
  • Event page development
  • Blog content support for engagement and SEO

The website continues to evolve alongside the business rather than remaining static.

Launch Communications & Member Engagement

The move into MPT’s larger location required clear communication and coordinated promotional support.

This included:

  • Member communication emails
  • Promotional messaging around the move
  • Print collateral for awareness campaigns
  • Signage sourcing support
  • Website updates tied to launch messaging

The goal was making the transition feel exciting, organized, and professional for both existing members and prospective clients.

Community Resilience & Recovery

One of the most meaningful chapters in this partnership came after Hurricane Helene caused major damage to the facility.

During this period, communication and visibility became especially important as the business navigated recovery and reopening.

Through strong community support, resilience, and strategic communication, MPT was able to rebuild and reopen stronger than before.

This chapter reflects the kind of long-term partnership that goes beyond marketing execution, supporting businesses through both growth and unexpected challenges.

Social Media & Video Content

To help strengthen awareness and showcase the MPT experience, we developed ongoing visual content designed to highlight the gym’s energy, coaching philosophy, and community.

This included:

  • On-site photography & collecting images from prior shoots, and athlete adventures
  • Social media graphics
  • Short-form reels and promotional video
  • Ambassador content posting as collaborators
  • Campaign creative for paid promotions

The focus was authentic visibility, showing real people, real training, and the culture behind the brand.

Promotional print items

To support awareness both online and offline, I also created promotional print materials including:

  • Posters
  • Rack cards
  • Postcards
  • Event promotional materials

These helped extend the brand into local community touchpoints while supporting membership growth efforts.

Email Marketing & Brand Communication

Email marketing became another important channel for keeping members informed and engaged.

We refreshed the email experience to better align with the MPT brand, improving visual consistency, readability, and overall communication flow.

Campaigns have supported:

  • Member updates
  • Promotional initiatives
  • Event communication
  • Ongoing engagement

This long-form informational video was particularly challenging due to initial sound quality issues. Despite these hurdles, I successfully edited the footage and created engaging animations to enhance the content. Although my interests are mainly focused on video editing and animation, I recognize that videography isn't my primary strength. In future projects, I look forward to collaborating with skilled videographers to ensure high-quality footage that I can transform into polished, professional videos.

The Outcome

What began as a website and transition project evolved into an ongoing creative partnership supporting MPT’s growth, communication, and brand presence.

The business now has a stronger, more cohesive marketing presence across digital and physical touchpoints, along with an adaptable creative partner to support future initiatives as the business continues to evolve.
