HatchWNC, a program of the Hatch Foundation, is a nonprofit organization supporting early-stage founders across Western North Carolina through mentorship, education, events, and community connection. Formerly known as Hatch Innovation Hub, the organization evolved to create a clearer identity aligned with its mission and regional focus.
As part of my collaboration with HatchWNC, I created strategic marketing content, including promotional campaigns, founder stories, event photography, and feature articles, to strengthen community engagement and amplify the impact of key programs.
As Hatch is in the process of evolving into HatchWNC, one ongoing challenge has been clarifying its identity within the local community. Because of the similarity in naming and overlapping visibility in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, there has been frequent confusion between HatchWNC and Hatch Coworking, despite the organizations serving different roles and operating as separate entities.
This made clear communication and brand consistency especially important, both in promotional materials and event storytelling. Event content needed not only to generate excitement and engagement, but also reinforce HatchWNC’s identity as a nonprofit focused on founder support, mentorship, and community-building across Western North Carolina.
Through strategic event promotion, photography, and founder storytelling, HatchWNC developed a growing library of marketing assets that extended the impact of its programs well beyond event day. The content helped increase awareness, celebrate the entrepreneurial community, support fundraising initiatives, and communicate the organization's impact to founders, sponsors, donors, and grant partners.
Whether promoting a networking event, workshop, or flagship program like HatchThis, successful event marketing requires a coordinated strategy that informs, engages, and builds momentum. By creating consistent promotional campaigns and attendee communications, I helped turn individual events into experiences that strengthened HatchWNC's visibility and community impact.
